A couple from Whitstable, Kent have been announced as the winners of a competition to have an entire room in their house plastered by Newman Plastering, a plastering company based in Hempstead, Medway. The prize was valued at just over £400, and included materials and labour.
“After receiving the news that we won the competition, we could not believe our luck…” said Mrs Berry, competition winner.
Newman Plastering ran the competition to find one lucky family with a room in desperate need of some TLC. The competition was open to anyone living in the Kent area and entries came in thick and fast, even attracting the attention of local press.
“ Throughout my 12 years in the trade, I have had a lot of support from the communities that I have worked within … I have seen many families in desperate need of help and have been more than happy to help out in any way I can” said company owner, Toby Newman.
Mrs Berry, a Whitstable Resident was announced the winner of the competition. Her requests was to complete her sons room.
“Thank you so much, I am absolutely so thankful, that’s amazing news! My son just did a little dance when I told him” said Mrs Berry in response to finding out she was the winner of a room re-plaster.

Mrs Berry’s son had longed to be able to decorate his own room the way he wanted. Hoping to create a room where he would feel calm and relaxed when needed.
Newman Plastering attended the property the following week, after an inspection to carry out the works. The walls and ceiling were plastered in one day.

“ It was a pleasure to complete this room for the Berry family, they were very thankful for my work and I hope their son enjoys the time decorating and spending more time in a new calming and relaxing room. I am thankful that throughout these current times I am in the position to help families” explains company owner, Toby Newman.
